MHA Care is a not-for-profit organisation that has been providing high quality home and community care services across the Moira Shire and surrounding districts for the past 19 years. We are looking for an energetic, diligent and experienced person to lead our great Corporate Services team which looks after MHA Care’s business services, financial management, volunteer coordination and human resources:
As the Senior Finance Officer your key responsibilities will include:
- Working with the Senior Management team to develop and implement the systems and infrastructure required to sustain the future growth and financial security of MHA Care.
- Keep the CEO, Executive Management Team and Board informed of the financial and legal position of the organisation.
- Design and lead corporate strategic change initiatives across the organisation.
- Ensure the development and delivery of best practice human resource strategies and programs which maximise individual and organisational capability.
- Lead the development of a WHS System and injury management culture consistent with MHA Care’s policies.
- Ensure continued development and implementation of a long-term ICT Strategy which supports MHA Care’s Strategic Directions.
- In collaboration with Senior Management team report to the CEO, Board and external funding bodies, on the performance of MHA Care at meeting service and funding targets.
- To assist with the development and regular review of MHA Care’s policies and procedures.
Selection criteria, experience and attributes:
Essential–
- Extensive experience in; strategic planning, implementation, effective interpersonal team and budget management, with experience in developing and implementing systems organisation wide.
- Strong political and business acumen, especially during times of change.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing and presenting financial reports as required by the CEO or Board of Management
- Sufficient experience and exposure to the core corporate services of HR, Finance and ICT in order to effectively manage the specialist functional team members
- The capacity to identify and control risks to the organisation that fall within the realm of corporate services
- Strong commitment to the principles underpinning good governance and sound financial management
- Ability to maintain a clear sense of strategic direction within the international, national and state contexts.
- Tertiary Qualification in Business or Accounting
- Experience in leading a corporate services function at Executive level
- Current satisfactory Police and Working with Children Check
- Current valid Driver’s Licence
Desirable –
- Appropriate post-graduate qualifications
- Knowledge of the Home and Community Care Sector
- Previous experience in the Not-for-Profit sector
