MHA Care is a dynamic, innovative organisation providing community based assistance to the frail, aged and people with a disability across the Moira Shire. We are looking for an energetic and diligent person to join our great team in the following role based in our Yarrawonga office:

  • Finance Officer 

Yarrawonga, Part time (0.8 FT)

Position Title  – Part Time Ongoing

Salary range and benefits: Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 SACS Employee – Based on Experience + Non for-profit salary packaging options (Full time hours negotiable)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the timely and accurate payment of accounts when due
  • Resolve any account discrepancies with suppliers
  • Assist with end of month and EOFY reporting
  • Resolve supplier complaints relating to accounts payable
  • Reconcile creditor accounts and reconcile payments
  • Reconcile all invoices to purchase orders
  • Entering homecare package expenses and reconciling subledgers between systems
  • IT Support
  • Team and management assistance
  • Financial reporting
  • Payroll and reception back-fill as required

About You:

This role will suit someone with an administration driven background, with experience in a previous Accounts Payable function (essential) along with strong reconciliation skills.  Experience using various accounting packages (essential) and proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook. You will be punctual and reliable, flexible and keen to rise to new and rewarding challenges. 

You will have demonstrated effective communication with the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.  You will also be confident in meeting deadlines, able to multitask and have strong organisational skills. 

Experience and Qualifications required:

Essential:

  • Demonstrated previous experience in a finance or bookkeeping role with an emphasis on Accounts Payable
  • Advanced computer skills including the ability to use Microsoft Office and computerised accounting packages such as Quickbooks Online
  • Previous experience in payroll and administrative tasks
  • Current Satisfactory Police Check
  • Current Valid Driver’s Licence

Desirable:

  • Tertiary or Certificate level qualification in a Finance related field
  • Previous experience with Quickbooks Online, and Carelink Aged Care are an advantage
  • An understanding of financial processes for Not-for-Profit and Aged Care services
  • Knowledge of Home and Community Care
  • An understanding of the needs of older people and people with disabilities and their carers
